When several teeth are missing next to each other, an implant-supported bridge is one option that can replace multiple teeth without needing an implant for every gap.
Rather than placing one implant per missing tooth, an implant-supported bridge uses a smaller number of implants — often two — to anchor a connected span of replacement teeth. This differs from a traditional tooth-supported bridge, which relies on your natural teeth either side of the gap for support and generally requires those teeth to be reshaped.
Because an implant-supported bridge is anchored in the bone, it does not rely on the two teeth next to the gap for support.
This option may be discussed with patients who:
As with all implant treatment, suitability is confirmed through a clinical exam and 3D imaging, not assumed from a description alone.
Your dentist will provide a personalised timeline, as healing rates and the number of implants required vary between patients.
Cost depends on the number of implants required, whether grafting is needed, and the materials used for the bridge. We provide an individual quote after assessment. Payment plans are available through Afterpay, Zip and Humm.
